A trip to see Nana and Papa

It's been a fun week in Dallas...

1) Happy 65th birthday to mom!!

2) Wonderful SURPRISE visit of my sister, Carrie, and her youngest son, Preston. I hadn't seen Carrie in a year... so we had a super fun visit! She got to meet lil' Hunter, and it was fun to watch the kids play together.
3) A great time hanging out with some college friends and their families....

4) Oh... and our FIRST ER visit as parents. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to Martin for sewing up Noah's face for us!!! We told Noah that if he really wanted to drink a vanilla milkshake, he didn't need to make friends with the coffee table. We have had so many "near misses" with Noah that I'm actually quite impressed that we made it 21 months without going to the ER. I know that it won't be our last; however, I'm okay if we don't see another ER doc for a long time!

noah runs through the house yelling "BAAAAA-BEEEEE"... as I chase him down and tackle him in order to put his clothes on!

finally, big brother is asleep in his crib taking a siesta, and little brother is working on nap #4 for the day! (time for me to quit blogging and take a nap myself!)

"Who does he look like?"

This is the question many ask... "Does Hunter look like Noah?"

Some say "Yes" and others say "No"...

I (personally) fall into the "No" camp, and this is why... it's all because of the eyes...

here are a few photos of noah being "caught in the act" of performing his new role as the "SUCKER finder"! (by the way, we call the pacifier the "orange sucker"...)

These photos are from yesterday while Hunter was still strapped in his carseat...

And, this morning, while I was feeding Hunter, Noah enjoyed climbing in and out of the pack-n-play multiple times!

a teachable moment

so, as i'm sure many parents with 2 or more children will agree, the older sibling will typically find "their" baby toys extremely interesting and entertaining as they are dusted off and "reappear" around the house.

here's an example:

Noah: "Hey Baby Hunter... I remember how this works! Let me show you!"

Hunter: "Um... all of my movements are reflexes right now... I don't even know how to reach for something!"

Noah: " Oh, well then I guess I'll play with the toy - you just sit there and watch!"

Hunter: "I think I'll go to sleep instead!"
