Some of you may be impressed that I'm actually taking the time to write something longer than a mere caption to a photo of Noah. (I'm one of them!) But, I thought that my experiences today were worth writing about.
1. Why I need to start wearing an apron while feeding Noah....
Well, let's just say that Noah enjoys blowing bubbles and making unique noises which includes utilizing many tongue movements. With that said... He has now figured out that it is even MORE fun to make noises and blow bubbles with food in his mouth. This results in the projectile spitting of food out his mouth and on to me and every other non-suspecting victim! ... For those of you who were wondering... Yes, I did run my errands today with my t-shirt covered in speckles of squash and sweet potatoes!
2. The marathon afternoon nap!
After giving Noah his afternoon bottle, I placed him in his crib as usual. Well, after listening to him talk to himself for ~10 minutes via the monitor, I headed back to his room to see what he was up to. I found him doing log rolls back and forth across his crib matress and then sitting up... only to plop back on his belly to roll to the other end. I concluded that he was not ready to take his nap, so we played together for a little while before Nap Attempt #2 was initiated. Back in the crib he went. This time I stuck around in the hallway to hear him begin to grunt and breath heavy.... What was he up to now? I snuck back in to find him standing in his crib. This is a first for our little Noah! He was Happy as a clam rubbing his teeth and gums on the side railing! Once again, Mr. Active and I played for a few more minutes until he started rubbing his eyes with his fists. I thought, "Surely Attempt #3 will be successful"... so, back in the crib he went... He made a few noises, then it was quiet. I snuck in one last time just to be sure he was truly asleep... and THIS IS WHAT I FOUND!! Are you kidding me? Yes, and he spent 2 hours in that position! Way to go Noah...
