Tummy Time

Well, we are venturing into the world of "tummy time". After performing numerous newborn exams at the clinic where most infants start screaming after 20 seconds of being placed on their bellies, our little Noah remained quite content for 15 minutes! Looks like we just might have an alternative to the bouncy seat... Here are some photos of our happy boy!

Bath time

Okay, so giving a three week old baby a bath in an actual baby-bath-device is like trying to give a cat a bath in the sink! Noah was flailing his arms, legs and head throughout the process. I thought bath time was supposed to be a "fun and playful" time. Instead, it turned out to be a "lets get him clean as fast as we can so that the screaming will stop!" scenario. Here are a couple of photos John captured as we officially tortured Noah with bubbles and water. (pardon the x-rated shots!)

My attempt at comforting the little booger... needless to say, he slept VERY well after an exhausting bath!

Happy Thanksgiving

We had such a fun week with the Pleasant family. Carrie and Brad came down from Charlotte, NC with their 3 little ones... Travis, Ashley and Preston. Mom, Dad and Debbie were in town from Dallas. We had a week filled with swimming, playing bocce ball, watching football, going to Camp Mabry and of course, enjoying the Turkey Trot. Noah loved meeting his extended family, especially because there was hardly a moment when he wasn't being held! Here are a couple of photos from the week... :)

... getting ready to meet the family

Today Noah's North Carolina cousins are coming to Austin for the Thanksgiving holiday. In preparation, we went for a little walk around the neighborhood. I'm attempting to get Noah used to the jogging stroller so that when my body is ready to run again, I'll have a running partner :)
Since the Cowboys will be playing football on Thanksgiving Day, Noah and I spent some time reviewing stats of Tony Romo, Jason Witten, T.O., Creighton and Julius Jones. Noah was trying on his "throwing" arm during our conversation!

Happy Baby!

I think Noah might just have his daddy's smile :)

My FIRST NFL Sunday!

This morning has been a busy one! I had my first bath... I really like hanging out in my puppy-dog towel. Mom says I'm still too little to get a puppy, but I'll keep asking her!

Mom and Dad thought it would be fun to place me in the middle of the family rivalry between the DALLAS COWBOYS and the minnesota vikings. (you can tell that Mom is the COWBOY fan!!)

Oh, no! How am I supposed to choose between these two teams? Can't I root for BOTH!!

Our first 24 hours

We have officially survived being home for 24 hours. After a long night of getting up every few hours and enjoying the "fun" of having my milk come in... I have to say that everything went pretty smoothly. Here are a couple more photos of Noah. :)

Welcome Noah Carter Manning

November 6th... the day that John and I became the lucky parents of a cute kid named Noah Carter Manning!! He came into this world weighing 6 pounds, 7 ounces... measuring 19 inches in length.

We started out the morning stopping by Rudy's on the way to the hospital. John needed his breakfast taco fix :)

The delivery went very well, and our stay at the hospital was great. We really appreciated our nurses and all of the staff. Noah, especially, loved getting to make new friends! Thanks to everyone who came to visit us. You definitely made the time fly by! Now... we are off to home... just the three of us!

One Week to Go!

It seems a little too surreal that I just returned home from my last doctor visit before little Noah Carter joins us! I'm excited, anxious, overwhelmed and joyful all at the same time.

Be looking for future posts of "the Manning family" starting on November 6th... 8 days and counting :)
